A lot can happen in a week

With her Kate at the coffee shop
Gee Whiz!  Ella is just livin' it up now that she has settled into her home on Cape Cod.  Twice a day she loses her mind for around 15 minutes and does Jihad on the kitchen (and us). This is when we call her "Hella."  For a well-socialized dog, the experts recommend that she have 100 new experiences in 100 days - here is a short list:

Meeting Grandparents
Going to an Arts and Crafts Show
Taking out the garbage
Meeting the Fed ex man and the air conditioning guy
Daily doses of my totally awesome aunt, Margie - she will be the babysitter...
Meeting toddlers, kids, teens, young adults, regular old adults and a lovely woman in a wheelchair
Folding Laundry
Playing ball with Simka, a German Shepherd mix down the road
Being dropped several times on the head by multiple family members
Hanging out at the Chocolate Sparrow coffee shop and getting loved to bits by who all who pass
Listening to opera (that got a head tilt)
Being close to a beeping truck in reverse
First vet appointment
Having a tick yanked off her forehead
Being taken out in a thunderstorm on her first night in Philadelphia
Hanging out with 2 adult Aussies who then showed her their secret garden
Being told "NO" a thousand times for biting, looning and grabbing the dishtowel
A walk with friends from Chatham
Mega hugs and kisses

Meeting Daisy and Harley, grown up Aussies

A walk (or carry) with Cloe

The day before

"Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to."
- Alfred A. Montapert

My beautiful dog, Cider died on April 15 - how can she be so gone?  She was a Collie mutt who asked me to take her home from the pound with an insistent paw on my arm and a pleading look.  She was the most fun thing I ever knew...

This little somebody was born on April 17.  Kate thinks Cider's soul flew into her - It is strange to see them together on this page, as they missed each other in life by 2 days.  Our new girl is an Australian Shepherd.  We don't know her name or who she is, but we know we can love her.  I pick her up tomorrow - more then....
